I hope you decide to spend some more money on HD cameras, front and rear as I enjoy your footage very much. :D

p.s. I didn't realise you cycle quite so much, 12,000 miles a year is rather more than almost every cyclist going by the stats on bikejournal. I think I manage about half that. :)CyclingMikeyhttp://www.youtube.com/user/CyclingMikeynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7651597981151570147.post-24727743534367165642011-01-05T14:15:13.757+00:002011-01-05T14:15:13.757+00:00Hi Martin,

Probably mirrors my own position quite closely.

But, I would still say that, when it really comes down to it, your position is incompatible with good infrastructure...

'(a fear that this right may be eroded is the only reservation I have had about good infrastructure...' Do you think the UK road environment will ever be suitable for 5 year old cyclists (or 70+ year olds)? I'm not talking about quiet back roads/streets, but the type of roads you present in your short video clips - busy, fast, urban highways.

I respect your position: preserving the right of cyclists to use the road. It's admirable. But I do take exception with, if I understand your position correctly, the following statement:

'I jealously guard my right to use the roads (save motorways) which are ideally suited to fast efficient cycling, if only all motorists were willing to share'.

Do you think your attitude is compatible with encouraging Dutch levels of participation here in the UK?Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03179114661892874695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7651597981151570147.post-91596578943451178342010-12-19T01:49:29.673+00:002010-12-19T01:49:29.673+00:00keep on going for all our sakeskeep on going for all our sakesAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11239242366828368668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7651597981151570147.post-11979320464960335162010-12-18T19:33:33.913+00:002010-12-18T19:33:33.913+00:00The Muvi cameras are OK, but come out of the mount...The Muvi cameras are OK, but come out of the mounts in a crash, then get lost. Your decision to continue with a camera is to be commended and hopefully more will follow your example. More people should also blog their unfortunate encounters and as i always carry a pen with my phone am able to note Time as well as Plate no. and cross street for future reference.
Like pj i would consider looking at the irem you have just odered if it is a camera rather than replacement battery.
I remember commentating during the year that it is rare for anyone on any journey to arrive at their destination without a breach of some regulation be it of a minor or major nature.
Best wishes for a safe and incident free Festive season and New Year.

NB http://parrabuddy.blogspot.com/2010/02/team-pygmy-ridiculeskippyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10045948860442711266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7651597981151570147.post-25610240116644601612010-12-18T18:03:05.241+00:002010-12-18T18:03:05.241+00:00Yes, please keep it up! I gave up on my camera as I found it depressing how many times I felt I was intimidated while riding with it and lacking any legal knowledge found the Police simply to bureaucratic and frankly uninterested in the safety of cyclists.

Generally I'm now against posting videos of dangerous drivers due to it making cycling seem more dangerous than it is.

However I'm impressed that you are using your legal skills to support cyclists and so in that respect I'm pleased you will continue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
